Preparing broccoli in the oven makes the flavor so good as it bakes in the seasoning and doesn’t get mushy. This is an easy way to get your side dish done while preparing the rest of the meal. So good you may just think it's candy!
I am a woman of my word! I am starting the month of February off with a healthy recipe! I cannot, however, promise an entire month of the same. I hope you understand. My obsession with sweets has taken hold of my brain, and my blog, for the time being. My husband and I do have a stellar Super Bowl menu planned, so there will be those snacks to share, as well. I'm super excited about some of the things we came up with. In the meantime, let's roast broccoli! For me, roasted vegetables are as good as candy, but I know not everyone agrees with me on that.
Are there benefits to roasting broccoli?
Roasting broccoli is just one way to enjoy preparing cooked broccoli. It is an easy method though, which is why I like it. Broccoli is chock full of nutrients no matter how you prepare it. You get Vitamin C, K, Iron and Calcium in your little florets so eat up!
Can you roast frozen broccoli?
Yes, you can! Follow the same directions below. Keep an eye on them, stirring them occasionally to help the moisture get steamed out.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. On a rimmed baking sheet, drizzle 1 pound of trimmed broccoli florets with 1/3 cup of extra-virgin olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and toss well. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is tender and golden brown. Serve warm. Yum!
