For the first time in years, I have more food photos to share than I have time to post. I've been cooking and baking like a fool and I love it! There is a cute story behind this delicious cake. My oldest cutie gave me this recipe on Mother's Day this year and it was titled Mommyseed Cake. Awww. I've been telling him for months that we would make it together and it finally happened a few days before second grade began. The little boys LOVED it...we all loved it. It's as easy as pie, er...cake.
How do you make Simple Icing?
This cake tastes GREAT with Simple Icing drizzled over the top. It is super simple to make and I highly recommend serving Poppyseed Cake with icing. See the video below for easy instructions!
In a large bowl, combine the water, applesauce, yellow cake mix, poppyseeds, instant pudding and egg whites.
Mix it all up, using either a hand-held mixer or your strong arm. Pour the mixture into a bundt pan or a square baking dish.
