fresh watermelon martini

It is early September and I am in complete denial. I am attempting to hang onto the last strands of summer for dear life. I love summer. When it gets hot and muggy and everyone around me seems to be complaining endlessly, I think of those terrible, bitter days in January when the insides of my nostrils freeze together during my 10-second walk from my car into work. I rarely complain about the heat. Summer, please don't go!

One of the things I think of when summer comes to mind is an occasional fun, light, summery cocktail. This fresh watermelon martini recipe is fabulously light and tasty! And while I am sipping my martini I can't forget about the little people; so of course you had to make them a watermelon tasty treat. So join me and forget for a few minutes that summer is on its way out, enjoy your martini and give the kiddos a Mint Watermelon Popsicle. Summer will linger just a while longer...I PROMISE!
